Her interest in dry needling developed while completing her Master’s degree, where her dissertation focused on the modality after extensive practical and clinical training. She has also supervised multiple dissertations on the topic and been using it in clinical practice for over 15 years. This helps her safely treat tight, painful "muscle knots" (also called myofascial trigger points) that often don't respond to stretching or massage alone.

Before moving to the United States, Dr. Bester worked on the Health Sciences Faculty at a top-ranked university. There, she taught chiropractic students, supervised more than 50 master's research projects, and co-authored several scientific articles. Since 2017, Dr. Bester and her family have called Wake Forest, North Carolina home. Outside the clinic, she enjoys running and cycling on the local greenways with her husband and children.
